My goodness! Time is flying. It's flying by so fast, I completely missed that yesterday was November 6! Oh well, one day behind isn't too bad.
This one is keeping us on our toes! She DOES NOT stop moving EVER - even in her sleep! I could barely get pictures this morning. That said, she is still such a content and pretty easy going baby. She will voice her opinion when her needs are not being met immediately, but for the most part she is happy!
She is the favorite of her Sunday School teachers. She falls asleep in the same person's arms every week and they just love her personality. Nate and I are still not sure where either of our girls got their outgoing personalities from!
She is very curious and very driven. She sees something that she wants, she will find a way to get there. She gets a look on her face when she is zoned in on something and it's hard to distract her except to move her or move the object.
She loves to laugh, still mostly at Lucie and at her sister, but she will laugh at a lot things and lot of people now. She really loves to smile. She LOVES her daddy right now. When he gets home from work in the afternoons, he can't really leave her for about the first hour or she lets him know that she is not happy he is walking away.
She is still sleeping great. 2 good naps a day and sleeps about 12 hours at night. The time change didn't mess her up too bad. (Whew - it sure did mess with Monkey!)
She is mobile. Not quite crawling, but she is army crawling and can get anywhere she wants. She can make it across a room when I just turn around for a second. We have put up her baby jail in the den because if we have to be in and out of a room it's the only way she is safe right now.
She loves music. When I turn it on in the mornings she just starts clapping and smiling when she hears it. She loves to be sung to. Wheels on the Bus is still her favorite song. She doesn't mind books, but she would rather put them in her mouth or move around on the floor while you read it. It's not a way to keep her still.
She will watch Little Einstein, but only for a few minutes and then she is off on the floor moving around. We have tried to use this on the nights that Nate helps me in the kitchen, but it is usually just safer to put her in the baby bouncer and let her whine a little when she gets tired of it.
EVERYTHING goes in the child's mouth. EVERYTHING. She will find the tiniest fleck of something and her pincher grasp has gotten so good she can pick it up and put it in her mouth before I can get to her. She found a TINY spring out of a mechanical pencil the other day. The only way we knew is we could tell she was chewing. She will hide it on the first swipe and then the second swipe you can usually get it. The other day, her sister was opening bubble gum sticks for her GaGa and we didn't see one had fallen to the floor. This child had a whole stick of gum, wrapper and all, in her mouth and was just chewing away. Baby proofing is going to look totally different for this one!
She makes this awesome face all the time! We love it. She scrunches up her nose and sticks her tongue out and then breathes in and out her nose really fast. It's hilarious. She does it mostly when she is excited.
Her hair is growing, but not a ton. It is starting to curl around her left ear and the back is starting to get nappy when she wakes up in the morning, so I suspect it's about to start getting pretty curly in the next couple of months. Her eyes are still grey/green. They aren't going to be brown and I don't think they are going to be blue either. We will see!
She is talking some, but still really just noises. One time, we each though we heard Momma and Daddy and when she cries in her bed sometimes I hear Momma. That wrenches my heart and usually gets her out of bed!
Here is that face again! You can also see the look of determination. She was trying to get to my lens cap cover.
She is clapping all the time now. She can clap on demand and she claps when she is excited. She also claps when I wake her up and lay her on the changing table.
She has one tooth already. She is as slow as her sister in cutting teeth. Don't know if you can see the strings of drool that I caught falling out of her mouth - but she is drooling all the time. She has another bottom one coming any day now.
When she is sitting up, this is the stance when she finds something . She was digging at something in the carpet for awhile, but nothing ever turned up.
As I have said before, she LOVES to eat. She could care less about her bottles and most of the day she doesn't finish a whole bottle - ever. She would much rather eat real food and I can tell if we have something different on our plates than what she is getting - she isn't happy.
She still hasn't mastered a sippy cup. I'm actually hoping to skip it and go straight to a straw cup so we are going to try those for a good while.
Her all time FAVORITE toy is her stacking rings. She loves to pull those off and chew on them and bang them together. She also loves to empty things out of any container. I think I have a cabinet emptier on my hands!
Just this morning she started shifting from sitting to rocking on her hands and knees. She is going to get this crawling thing down pretty soon.
She is starting to love faces. She will smile at all the faces she sees in books.
For right now, this is how she crawls! She rocks from side to side and pushes off with her feet.
And she will finally get to whatever it is that she wants!
This one is going to teach me things about myself that her sister never dreamed of, whether they are good or bad! We love the joy that she has brought into our family. What a blessing! Thank you Lord for the gift of two sweet girls.
