Nutcracker Ballet

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with lots of family!!  Of course I didn't take a ton of pictures, but I will try to get them off my camera soon and post them.  It was a weekend full of time with family and couldn't have been a better weekend.  I don't think we saw the girls for 2 days because they enjoyed playing with all their cousins so much!!

This past Friday we did surprise Monkey with a trip to see the Mini-Nutcracker.  It was so much fun!  We kept it a secret, but we got her a fancy dress and a new head band so she knew we were going somewhere new and fancy.  We took Lil Bit to Doc and GaGa's house so we could enjoy this special night with just Monkey.  I have been looking forward to taking her since last year when I found out about this ballet too late!

It is put on by Centenniel Youth Ballet and most every part is played by a young child or teenager.  It is a shortened version of the ballet, the whole thing with intermission was over in less than 2 hours.

Monkey wanted to go eat Mexican food before we headed over so we took her to her favorite restaurant.  While we were eating dinner we told her where we were going.  It was priceless.  She sat there for a minute letting it register and then she just squealed with delight.  The whole way there she kept saying, this is the best night of my life!!!

When we got there, they were selling nutcrackers and oranments as a fundraiser so she got to pick out an oranament for herself and she wanted to pick out one for Lil Bit.  We found our seats and the show started soon.  She was captivated.  She LOVED it!  Every now and she would look at us and smile or hug one of us and once she got so excited she balled up both her hands in fists and just shook!

It was an impressive and beautiful performance.  She began to get tired towards the end, but she took in every bit of it.  Her favorite dance was the Sugarplum Fairy, but she loved the Waltz of the Flowers too!

Such a fun little date night with our Monkey.  So glad we had the opporunity to take her.  We love you sweet girl!
