Beach Trip in October

I make no excuses for not updating except that I'm either at work, too tired from work, or too tired from chasing around a CONSTANTLY moving 20 month old little girl.  She LOVES to bring us our things, even if we think we have tucked them away in a safe place.  She LOVES to get into anything that is not hers and she has a surprisingly long reach for someone who seems like they are so small!  It is a very fun stage, but she is wearing us out!

We took a beach trip with my family about a month ago, back in the middle of October.  Once again, my favorite time to go and this time did not disappoint!  The weather was pretty much perfect and except for the biting flies the first 2 days, it was a beautiful week to be outside.  Lil Bit was not a fan of the beach back in May, but she really loved it this time.  This beach is flat and hard because you can drive on it and I think it is easier on little feet.  This was the first beach that Monkey really loved and now she loves them all!

I'll see if I can get all the photos in one post!

Lots of shells to look for.  That is what we spent most of our time doing.  The beginning of the week was pretty chilly so we stayed out in clothes most of the time.

Can you tell which one didn't want to be told what to do for the camera??? :)
She still doesn't want to do it!  It was really the moment of confinement to take a picture!
A lot of the shells already had holes to make necklaces.  So neat!
Still not wanting to cooperate!

I have pictures of Monkey with her daddy like this.  Some of my favorites.

It was a little too windy to fly a kite, but they sure had fun trying!
My only Aunt, my dad's sister, got to come along on the trip with us.  It was so good to have her with us this year!

Waiting to eat at our favorite hole in the wall shrimp shack.  We could walk to it from our house.  Nate and I love it so much we ate there twice.  Can't wait to go back next year!!

They usually have live music most evenings.  The gentleman was very nice and gave the girls a harmonica!  Monkey was playing along with the music.
She could have dug in the sand all day if we let her.  She is like her momma that way.  Content to just play in the sand - if someone wanted to play with her, that was fine.  Otherwise, she was fine by herself!
This one just wanted to walk around the whole time and blow bubbles.
We pretty much had the beach to ourselves for what felt like miles.

She loved playing with the "fishies" or shrimp that was used for bait.  No fear in this child.
The last day was a good fishing day for Bub!
Once of my favorite shots of the trip.
This is one of the only pictures of her where I think she looks like a Powers.  There aren't too many of those!

Goose even got in on the fishing action and caught a big one!

Thank you Pop and JuJu for a wonderful week at the beach!!  We are all looking forward to next year!
