Missing Some Awesome Neighbors

When we moved into our house a year ago, we were so excited because our neighbors had 3 sweet children and one on the way.  But we were also informed that they would be leaving in a year to go on the mission field in Central Asia.  We knew it was coming, but we didn't know how much of a void it would truly leave in our little cul-de-sac and in our lives.

They had truly become part of our daily lives and our girls really loved playing with them whenever they could.  They left to being their journey while we were on vacation at the beginning on June.  We had to say goodbye before they even left and it was so hard.  We pulled apart crying children and the adults were trying to hold it together.

We know that God called them to this act of service and there is still a chance they could come back to live next door in 3 years.  Selfishly, all of us on this cul-de-sac are praying that is what will happen.

The weeks before they left, the kiddos came over to play a couple of days so that I could keep them occupied while mom and dad tried to pack up their entire life to move halfway across the world.  We will cherish those days that they got to play.

We also had a goodbye party in our cul-de-sac on Memorial Day for them.  We spontaneously rented an blow up slip-n-slide, had a potluck dinner in the street and watched game 1 of the Stanley Cup projected on our neighbor's garage door.  It was a memorable evening and we had so much fun!!

We spent our last night together watching Moana projected outside and catching fireflies.  Wonderful memories to hang on to!

Playing with shaving cream and cleaning off the picnic table!

Playing with Water Beads.  These things are awesome but I made WAY too many the first time!!  They had a blast but there were water beads EVERYWHERE!

This thing was AWESOME!!  In my current state, I sadly didn't get to try it out, but everyone had a blast!

We had a massive water balloon fight before dinner!

Everyone watching Moana on our last night together.
