Bowling and Painting Ornaments

So Nate had 4 weeks off for paternity leave this time and it was WONDERFUL!!!  It allowed us to figure out a routine that might work for school and gave us all time to settle into being a family of 5.

The last 2 days he had off work we decided we could get out of the house and do a few fun things with the girls.  We drove into Franklin both days so we were actually able to do school in the car on the way there both days!  That is something wonderful about homeschool.

The first day, we took the girls bowling.  They found their love of bowling this summer and we went back, but went to the little lanes.  The balls are smaller, lanes are not as long and the girls were able to bowl truly on their own.  The loved it so much they bowled 2 games.  And then of course we took a trip to the arcade after that so they could win tickets and get prizes!

Evie got a strike and I caught it on video!

The next day, we decided to do one of our Christmas Traditions early.  We took the girls the the Factory for donuts and painting Christmas ornaments.  It is so much fun each year to see how they grow with their painting skills.  I LOVE pulling out these ornaments each year to put on our tree and they bring a smile to my face when I hang them.  One trick for Lil Bit - this child LOVES gum.  We don't really chew gum in our family but she does.  And it is a treat for her.  We have started giving it to her if we have to go shopping and we gave her some while she painted.  It's amazing how much that helps her focus!  She may have to chew gum when we start school.
