Monkey went on her first vacation this past week. We just got back yesterday and had a blast. She was such a great traveler that it made the trip that much better. She didn't sleep much on the way down there, but she was happy when she was awake and we only had to stop once for lunch! I have so many pictures that I wanted to post that I am posting in about 5 different posts. The pictures aren't really in any order, but I tried to group them where they made sense.:)
Nate's parents took us to Seacrest Beach, right outside of Rosemary for a week of fun. We stayed in a condo right on the beach (made quick trips down so easy!) and the pool was right outside our door which turned out to be so great. Rosemary was in walking distance and the weather was so great. The ocean was a little rough during the week, but it wasn't too hot and the water felt pretty good (unless you are 7 1/2 months old!).
The first round of pictures are a little foggy while the camera warmed up, but I caught a clap in progression and loved it. She started clapping for "If You're Happy and You Know It" and "Patty Cake" just before we left and she loves to clap now.
We tried to put her in the sand and in the ocean, but for the first couple of days she hated it. Those first couple of days she wanted to stay in our laps or in the chair by herself, even her tent was too hot for her. Here are a few pictures of her sitting in the sand for the first time. She's not too happy!

We had a routine that seemed to work the whole week quite nicely. We would wake up and eat breakfast then head down to the beach to set up and let Monkey try to get used to the beach each day. She would start getting tired and fussy and we would take her up to lay her down for a nap. Daddy or Ga-Ga would usually stay up with her during that nap and I got to enjoy a little time on the beach to read. Head up for lunch and then pool time for awhile until she got sleepy again. Monkey and Daddy would take a great afternoon nap together while Mommy got some more time on the beach. Once Monkey woke up we would spend the rest of the day together with family. Either we went out to eat, on a walk, or just played in the condo until it was time to go to bed.

| I loved this sweet smile on her face while she was in her daddy's arms. |
We got her a beach tent thinking that she would take a nap in it for the morning, but I think she got too hot in there and couldn't sleep well. She would play in there for a little while, especially if someone was in there with her. Her youngest cousin, Mo, got in there with her for a little while and played. Her daddy played for awhile and she played by herself some of the time. It wasn't her favorite though, so after a couple of days we stopped putting it up and just let her stay under the umbrella.

Finally here is one of my favorite pictures that Doc caught. She HATED the ocean in the beginning. The waves were pretty rough most of the time, so we think it was a mixture of the water being cold and the waves being loud. This was the reaction the first day. We tried each day though and by the last day, she stood for awhile and let the water hit her feet, and even seemed to like it. She even sat for a little while and let the waves crash on her legs. It made me happy that by the end of the week she was beginning to like the beach since her momma loves it so much!
