Wow! I can hardly believe it, but our precious little girl is 3 months old today. Time is really flying and with it brings new changes that are even more fun. I tried to get some good pictures today, but Sundays are becoming pretty hard in our house. We go to church and she comes home and takes a nap, but after that nap she is just fussy the rest of the day. Hopefully that will get better!
Here are some new changes that are taking place.
She is getting much better head control. She can hold it pretty steady when she is sitting up (though I think her cheeks weigh her down a bit!). She can push up pretty far when she is on her tummy and can stay up longer.
I think her cheeks count as half her body weight right now! :) Not sure how much she weighs - we will find out next month.
She has started talking to us, but only when she wants to. She loves to talk to herself in the mirror. That is my favorite time - to give her a little bit of play time by herself and listen to her talk.
She has started grabbing objects that brush past her hands a she moves them. She loves the crinkly wings of her butterfly.
She has started to take her hands and some toys to her mouth. She is partial to the "E" link that she plays with. She hasn't quite gotten a finger or thumb yet, but she loves her fist and wrist.
She is very active and LOVES to kick her legs.
She has started to enjoy her baths a little more.
When she gets tired her hand goes up to her head and she starts playing with and pulling at her hair. The amazing thing about this to me is that her grandfather and great-grandmother both still do this when they get tired. :)
| She was so done with pictures by the time we got to this. Maybe we should do our photos first! |
She still loves to be read to.
When we pray with her at night she stares at us the whole time and starts to talk to us during it - love this.
She's rolled over 2 or 3 times but when she was propped up on her elbows. She has not rolled over being flat on her back yet.
When she gets fussy at night - she now likes her swing once she gets all her fussing out.
She has started to take notice of her feet when she is sitting up. She has even grabbed a hold of them once.
Her eyes are looking more like they are going to be brown.
My hair now has to be up all the time because she is grabbing on and pulling.
She can sit in her Bumbo longer now and even has some time with the play tray once or twice a day.
She still takes 3 naps a day, but the 3rd one is starting to get shorter.
We are still napping in our Rock n Play Sleeper and sleeping at night in our crib. She is still swaddled in her swaddle pod, but usually gets one arm out sometime in the night. She can't quite control everything just yet, so hopefully just a few more weeks of swaddling.
And one of the best things - the past 2 nights she dropped the dream feed at 10:00. She now goes down for bed at 7:00 pm and she doesn't get up until 7:00 am. It has been a wonderful past 2 nights - we get to go to bed whenever we want to now!!! Hopefully this is a trend that will continue.
