Christmas in Chaffee

Every year about a week or so before Christmas, we head up to Chaffee, MO to celebrate Christmas with Nate's extended family.  It was a great trip this year and it was fun to watch Monkey play with all of her cousins and just be a ham.  She is such a good traveler now.  She has hit the age where a DVD keeps her occupied for the trip.  We don't watch a lot of TV on a regular basis so I unashamedly let her watch special DVD's for all of our trips.  We all enjoy traveling in the car that way!

We finally remembered to take our camera out of the bag at some point this weekend and managed to capture some pictures.  Nate's dad also caught some sweet ones that I'm including on here.  Enjoy!

We tried to catch a good one with her great-grandmother, but these two were the best we could get!  Still hard to get those posed pictures because all she wants to do is move.

She did pretty good opening all her presents by herself this year, and being patient until it was her turn!

She took her Ma-Ma's cane and started using it as a microphone to serenade everyone with her repertoire of songs.  Nate and I have no idea where she got this from, but it was hilarious!

My favorite picture of the weekend by far.  She has learned how to do "thumbs up" and does it with her Pop at the dinner table all the time.  We got her to do it this weekend and she wanted to do it for every picture.  I love the shot of her daddy with it.  What a blessing these two are to me.
