Gymnastics

Our local rec center offers gymnastics for Monkey's age just right down the road from us.  I figured with Little Bit coming, that it would be fun to do something just for Monkey this past fall.  So I enrolled her in a class to see how she would like it.  Well, she LOVED it!  Her teacher was so kind and patient and Monkey loved her.  It was only for 8 weeks, but she made some progress in the small amount of time.  In fact, I'm thinking of trying to sign her up for the next 8 weeks.  If Little Bit hangs in there, we will be able to make it!  Her daddy was able to go to a few of the classes, which she loved.  He snapped some pictures for us at the last class.
They do stretches before class starts in order to warm up.

While they are stretching, they have to kiss their knees.
Doing her forward roll.
Only the 2nd time to incorporate the back bend and flip.  She was a little nervous going backwards, but made it both times and even let Ms. Millie flip her over!

She loved the balance beam, but wouldn't walk with her arms out by herself so she had a hard time keeping her balance on her own.  She did a great job kicking the blocks off the beam while walking though.

She got better at the bar as the weeks went on, but as with her mom - she does not have a lot of upper body strength and didn't want to hang on by herself!
When it came to pushing up on the bar, she just wanted to flip over it, but she wasn't ready for that skill yet.
It was a great program.  I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a class to try out.  The price was great and she learned a lot of good things!
