Lil Bit's Dedication

We dedicated Lil Bit in church this past Sunday.  It was a wonderful and special day.  Our church usually dedicates at least 5 babies or children each time they have a dedication service, but we were one of only 2 today so it was almost like we had our own time.

I love the way our church does their dedications.  The parents get to choose a life verse for their child and the father's read that verse before the parents and the church take their pledge to raise their children in the Lord.  It is a short, but special time.

We chose Lamentations 2:22-26 for Lil Bit's verse.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    his mercies never come to an end;
 they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
    “therefore I will hope in him.”

 The Lord is good to those who wait for him,
    to the soul who seeks him.

It is good that one should wait quietly
    for the salvation of the Lord.

What a huge responsibility to pledge to raise our children in the Lord.  We pray daily that God would guide us and give us wisdom as we try to guide our girls down the path we have for them.

We feel fortunate that we not only had our church family standing up for us today, but our families were able to be there today to stand up with us as well.  We feel very blessed to be able to have families surrounding our girls that agree to teach them about the Lord and the love He has for them.

We were so proud of Monkey.  She did such a good job standing up with us without crying or being disruptive.
