What We Have Been Up To

Our normal day to day life has been pretty routine and nice now that we are getting into a groove of "school".  Monkey is still doing great, but there are some days she doesn't really want to do it, or has her own idea of what she wants to do and we just go with the flow.  She enjoys it and really, it's just a way to give structure to parts of our day so that I of course can have a plan!  She is getting to learn different ways of painting and gets to draw with markers daily (her favorite part).  She is learning letters and some other things in the process, but we mostly just play and do a little bit of learning.  It's been fun!  Haven't taken pics of school lately, but here are some pics as of late:

Monkey currently has a love/hate relationship with her sister, so the moments when the love is flowing and they play together are wonderful to watch.  As Lil Bit gets older I think Monkey will realize how fun she is!
We try a sippy cup every now and then.  She doesn't like really cold water and it mostly just dribbles down her front.
We have been letting her try food every now and then.  This was a cold cucumber that we gave her because we thought she was getting a tooth (no such luck yet).  She has had carrots as well, but really just plays with them.  She will start eating deconstructed parts of our dinners in about a week or so.  She is ready because she grabs at everything in site on a table.
We had friends in from out of town and she took a nap on me one evening.  I LOVED it, bc she is so social she usually won't fall asleep with anyone around anymore.
Monkey and her sweet friend from NC.  It was so good to have them in town.  Her mommy and I have been friends for almost 15 years.
She got her first real princess dress handed down from one of her cousins.  She LOVED it and didn't take it off for about 2 hours.
We introduced her to Mary Poppins this past weekend.  She enjoyed eating a whole chocolate Popsicle and ended up making it through the whole movie - it was long and she had a few times where she did something else, but she hung in there and finished it.  She really liked it and even laughed a lot while watching it.  We will be enjoying that again and again I'm sure for years to come!
