Especially when you are Lil Bit. Our youngest child is proving to be quite sensitive to any kind of change. We thought Monkey was a child of routine, but man oh man - Lil Bit is even more of one.
She has been doing great in her swaddle until the past week. She is a strong little girl and she has busted out of the miracle blanket twice in the past week. One problem - it's a lot of fabric that could get wrapped around her face. Another problem - she is obsessed with her hands right now and it wakes her up EARLY whenever she busts out. And because she is so young, when she wakes up she is ready to eat so the rest of the day is pretty much shot. (Interesting fact - it seems according to the blog that both girls began busting their swaddles at almost EXACTLY the same age down to the day.)
Enter the Woombie. Monkey's transition to the Woombie was pretty seamless if I remember correctly. She loved it and that took care of our sleeping problems.
This one however is one nap in this morning and she HATES it. She is not ready for her arms to be completely out - her hands wake her up too much. She has been crying for the past 30 minutes because she is angry about her sleeping situation. The problem is, we have to stay the course because we don't really have another option that is safe for her. I have read that it takes 3 days to get into a new routine. Soooo, we are staying the course and hopefully in the next 3 days she will be better. Not looking forward to tonight! I had so loved that they both slept through the night. Here's hoping she will be tired enough from today to do just that! :)
Funny side note. When Monkey has independent play time in her room in the morning she has her door open and the gate closed so she can see out. Well, since her sister is crying, I looked up there and she decided to shut her door so she didn't have to listen to it. That makes me laugh!
