Some Baby Things I Love Right Now

Second baby - but 2 years later - some baby stuff has changed, and we have chosen to use some baby stuff we didn't with Monkey.  There are a few products in particular that are making our life easier right now.  I thought I would share a few.

I think I shared this with Monkey already, but my number one favorite baby/kid product out there is the Nose Frida.  Yes, it is a disgusting concept, but it is the best invention EVER.  It's a snot sucker - and it actually works.  Lil Bit is having trouble with congestion - a LOT of congestion.  We don't think it's a cold because it only hits at one time during the day.  Unfortunately, it's 5:30 AM.  It's to the point where it wakes her up.  Poor thing - it sounds awful and based on the amount we get out of her nose every morning - I'm sure it's frustrating to her.  There are a few possible culprits - maybe reflux or allergies.  We are trying a few things to see.  But while we wait, at least we can relieve her congestion effectively.

The next product makes our life easier because of the congestion and possible reflux as well.  Monkey did not sleep in our room - we had a smaller, one-story home then.  She went straight to a crib.  Lil Bit is currently in our room in a bassinet.  We discovered that her congestion is better and stays away longer if her head is elevated.  The problem with elevating a bassinet is that she is quite strong and squirmy already.  She works her way to the bottom.  So I happened upon the Kolcraft Cuddle n Care bassinet.  We have only had it for 2 days, but it's pretty awesome.  It has an incline insert that comes with it.  She can get strapped in so she can't squirm to the bottom and it has been approved for infant sleep.  She still had congestion at 5:30 this morning, but it let her sleep longer with it before it frustrated her awake.

Next on the list is the Woombie.  We used one of these for Monkey because she kept busting out of every swaddle.  The problem we were going to have is that we needed to be able to swaddle Lil Bit and still strap her in to the bassinet.   This company has the best product for that!  It's the Woombie Leggies.  I know they look so funny, but these are awesome.  They are tight enough to keep their arms from waking them up, but they are loose enough that she can move her arms and not feel so restricted.  Then there are legs with this one so we can swaddle and strap her in!  The other best part is that the zipper works both ways and she can still stay swaddled during those middle of the night diaper changes.
